Since we implemented the NPD (New Product Development) module from Sanderson last year, our whole NPD process has become quicker and more streamlined. We now have a more reliable and accountable process in place to handle our product innovation process.

Sanderson, the publicly owned UK supplier of software solutions and services has won a contract to supply its Wholesale Distribution solution, Swords, to Eastenders Cash & Carry plc at their two new cash & carry’s.
Eastenders Cash & Carry primarily sell beer, wine, spirits and tobacco to retailers. Currently based in Leyton, East London, Eastenders recently acquired new premises in Slough and Birmingham for which a comprehensive IT system was needed. Having operated the Sanderson solution for a number of years in the Leyton branch, Eastenders’ management team made the decision to further invest in the Swords solution based on the proven benefits that the software has delivered to date.
All three sites will use Radio Frequency (RF) technology at goods inwards to capture bar codes as stock enters the warehouse. This will reduce scanning errors at the tills and also ensure stock is effectively managed and controlled throughout the store. A fast-track till payment system, Queue Buster, designed to reduce queues at peak times, will also be implemented to utilise the RF technology. The system will cut waiting time and encourage customers to shop at otherwise busy periods, promoting improved customer service.
Alex Windsor, Director of Eastenders Cash & Carry Ltd explains:
“The Swords solution has supported our Leyton branch for 4 years and we were keen to implement the same integrated system at our new Slough and Birmingham stores. We know the system is reliable and able to support our growing business, we expect to see a good return on this further investment in Sanderson.”
Jackie Taylor, Sales Director at Sanderson concludes:
“We’re pleased to continue to support Eastenders in their expansion. The Sanderson solution will integrate all areas of the growing business. Using one database for all three cash & carry’s will eradicate work duplication and centralise pricing for all branches. Integrating multiple stock locations ensures stock levels can be optimised and customer service levels improved. The implementation of a dual server system and resilient tills at all branches will ensure system resilience. We look forward to a continued relationship with Eastenders.”
