Warehousing Using RDTs
"The installation of the Radio Data Terminals (RDTs) in conjunction with Sanderson’s Formul8 Warehousing software module routines has had the following benefits for our business operations:
1. Immediate acknowledgement of production on Formul8, making stock figures available throughout the system much quicker.
2. Stocktaking time has been reduced by about 50% by avoiding manual data entry hence reducing errors and providing quick, accurate information.
3. Time spent on product picking has been reduced by about 25% with better stock rotation as well. By scanning orders at the point of despatch greater accuracy can be achieved, reducing the handling of customer returns and the processing of credit notes whilst improving customer service levels and goodwill.
We did have some concerns about the ability of the staff to use RDTs but they have taken to them very quickly with minimal difficulties. They can see the benefits for themselves in their every day roles as the RDTs have improved their efficiency in order picking, stock movement, production put away and despatch.”
