Overnight we increased the availability and quality of management information by at least ten-fold. The systems are already changing the way we do business to serve the customer better. We now know that our peak lunch time trading time is between 11 am and 1pm, so we can adapt staffing levels to match. Service is what our business is all about.

Sanderson, the publicly owned UK provider of software solutions to the Delivered Wholesale and Cash & Carry industries, has won a contract to supply its Swords solution to Stonehouse members Cox’s Cash & Carry and sister company Thurles Wholesale.
The Sanderson solution will centralise operations to allow the two companies to operate cohesively. Centralising buying, depot and group accounts functions will increase efficiency within the organisations; providing a platform for improved customer service.
Mobile Sales facilities will be used to significantly reduce the time taken to process and despatch customer orders, allowing same and next day delivery times to be offered to customers. Mobile Sales Reps will use handheld technology to capture customer orders which are then directly emailed to the Sanderson system for picking and delivery.
To streamline goods-in and provide more efficient stock management and fulfilment, Cox’s will use Radio Frequency (RF) technology which will also increase the accuracy of order picking.
The Sanderson Business Intelligence solution will be used to provide centralised analysis for both businesses, identifying areas for improvement and areas of success. Analysis of sales will provide management with vital information on which to base important business decisions.
Terry Deasley, Director of Cox’s Cash & Carry explains:
“We recognised the need for better integration between our depots in County Kildare and Tipperary and wanted to introduce a centralised system that could manage the demands of our growing business. The Sanderson solution offered us the integration required to operate efficiently and successfully.”
Jackie Taylor, Sales Director of Wholesale Distribution at Sanderson concludes:
“The Sanderson system will assist Cox’s in delivering the excellent customer service that they strive to achieve. The software will integrate the two depots and allow the implementation of highly efficient working practices.”
